THANK YOU! As a life-long Mac user (I purchased the ORIGINAL MAC and have never owned anything else!), it is great having this app. I use it ever time I have been on the internet. Kudos to a great product!

Does what it says, but there are a lot of free apps that can do exactly what this app does. It looks cute, and does the job, but if you actually know what its deleting you can configure a lot of different FREE apps to do the exact same thing. But if you don’t know really have any idea what its doing, I guess its a pretty simple way to get the job done and not have to understand what its deleting. FYI you should configure to shred EVERYTHING it is capable of deleting. You do not need offline storage or supercookies on your computer and especialy not if you are concerned about your privacy.

I like having an app that cleans my caches and hidden files. Privacy Scan is very basic. Secure cleaning is great but not all files need secure cleaning and there is only one selection for everything. Secure cleaning is either on or off for all of the files and caches of every application. There is no scheduling of cleaning which makes it harder to keep everything cleaned in the minimun amount of time. I was hopeing that I would be able to select which cookies would be saved and which would be cleaned but no luck there, all or nothing. Another anoying issue is that you have to quit when cleaning is done. I would have liked to select certain programs to clean using non-secure cleaning, running the app, then running the app again using secure cleaning for the other programs. I used to have an program that would do all of these functions, plus much more, but Smith Micro didn’t keep their program current with the Mac OS.

But it covers so many things. It works great!

It has really speeded up the performance of my computer, especially WGT. It had gotten extremely slow.

Great application worth downloading. Works thoroughly and fast. Please include in the next update a fix for the following: When opening, the application believes that quicktime and preview are open when they are not. Requires starting and quitting Preview and or quicktime in order to finish scan. Otherwise, fantastic. Thank you for making a useful and funcitonal app.

Extremely helpful in keeping my iMac running smoother than in the past. I will recommend it to all my Mac friends. Much better than Apps that we have to pay a lot of cash !!!

I too would like to be able to schedule cleaning. However, i am OK with using it after each visit on the net. It has been very helpful.

This app works well and looks good. Two problems though: One, please stop asking me to tweet the results every single time I use this app. I’ve paid for it and am not interested in being used for advertising. And two, it has to be force-quit under El Capitain.

Worked fine until El Capitan upgrade. Anything being done about this?

It is a great app and I have made it a habit to run it everytime I close out Safari. However, it has not been updated to be fully compatiable with the new OS 10.11. Does work, but the only way to close it when it is done scanning and cleaning is for force quit the app (there are no animations either). I hope there is an update very, very soon.

under 10.11 freezes, must use force quit to get out of app.

I like this app as it finds stuff that remains behind even after getting apps, such as Safari & Firefox, to clear out cookies, etc. Safari seems to be the worst offender for keeping stuff that I don’t want it to but this app finds & cleans them all out.

Does what it says it does quick and easy.

I have been using Privacy Scan for over six months. The BEST Product offered in the App Store. You won’t be sorry. Privacy Scan does what it advertises to do…More. I wish I had found this product sooner. I use it everytime I am on the Web. I have told several people about it, they also think its Great also, you will too. I can’t rate it high enough. It takes all of the other stuff off of your computer that you did not know the web sites were putting on your computer while you were on their site. First time I used Privacy Scan, it cleaned over 1 GB of unwanted material off my hard drive. What else can I say?

I use PrivacyScan at least twice a day; it’s that quick and that thorough, after I scrub Safari of cookies, etc. Just upgraded to OS 10.11 and PrivacyScan was right there to upgrade with it. The Secure Mac people are quick and thorough and have always been extremely helpful with the occasional failure to clean 100%. I’ll stick with it, and Son #2 (who got me into Apple products) is a fan also.

Excellent app Would be even better if it included some easy way to kill Safari, Preview, and other apps that cannot be open when Privacy Scan is run.

An app that is quick to find and delete the rubbish left by those apps we are forced to use from time-to-time (e.g. Flash). I use three apps to annihilate said rubbish completely: Cookie, NetShred X, and PrivacyScan; this combination finds them all and destroys them.

Privacy scan works like a champ. Its so simple to use. Opne, select what to shred, click and gone.
