Works well and one star off for having to click everything without keyboard options. No crashes on 10.11.6.
very useful app, i can recommend it
Important utility app which informs the user to be carefull.
After reading and article by a WSJ IT expert, I quickly gave this a try (as well as Ghostery). Quickly became one of my favs due to its simplicity and effectiveness at getting ride of things I don’t want to save while freeing up resources for other uses. Some of my webistes that use cookies are wiped and I believe I can ignore them—but since I use two-step verification whenever possible (or 1Password)—not really and issue. The other killer app is ghostery which reduced tracking and ads targeted at me based on by where I go—helpful to many—not me. You can also choose to ignore those sites that are of value to you. You will not believe happy mady advertisers will be tracking you. available via extensions and in apps for mobile.
Privacy Scan Is a good investment, Apple is changing Safari, looking for new ways to take care off Macbook Pro.
It does what it says. Worth it, definately worth it.
Top app on our entire family’s Mac’s. I’ve used this app for the past few yeaers and it is excellant and extremally effective. I highly recommend
It seems to work just fine to cleans out unwanted junk, Im not too technical, but it works.
This app seems to do what it advertises. However, it could do the same work with about 1/2 the clicks required. After using this for a year or more (usually several times a day) I’ve concluded that it isn’t necessary to make the user click e.g after the scan but before deleting and after delition is completed. It’s also an occasional pain to have to close Safari before the app will run; I suppose there’s a techincal reason for this but it’s still (sometimes) annoying. All-in-all a good app. But it should be for the money!
I’ve been using PrivacyScan since it came out. After a couple of minor bumps in the road PrivacyScan became a fairly quick, reliable utility for doing various cleanup jobs. Recently, I switched to Firefox as my primary browser. Now, Firefox cache cleanup in PrivacyScan is abysmally slow. Get PrivacyScan humming along again and it’ll be a 5-star rated application again.
It does what it is meant to do without any hassle. Veyr quick. I run this when I get off the internet. It gets rid of all kinds of stuff.
This is a quick and simple way to remove lingering remnants of web surfing. I use it after each Internet session. It performs quickly without hogging resources. It does as it says it will. Update 071716: This app often finds and removes clutter and privacy threats that other programs do not identify. Highly recommend.
Just downloaded the app from app store. The program freezes and does not process files selected for shredding. App stays stuck in a loop or?? Submitted help ticket - no response at this time.
The good: Works good when it works. Really helpful and informative to know there are so many cached files. The issue: Has an issue where you can lose your mouse control. And now it stopped working on Mac Sierra. Please help!!!
I like this app as it finds stuff that remains behind even after getting apps, such as Safari & Firefox, to clear out cookies, etc. Safari seems to be the worst offender for keeping stuff that I don’t want it to but this app finds & cleans them all out. UPDATE: The latest version (1.9) continues to work great!!
easy to use, wipes tracking data and cleans caches fast
This app does the same job I used to use 2 different apps to perform. It’s quick, and simple to use. I’ve even verified what it does using different applications, and it cleans everyhting I ask it to very well.
When I initially got this app, it seemed to work very well. Not sure if the updates messed something up, but now it doesn’t clear my history very well. I’ll run it, and sometimes it takes a while to go through the Safari Meta Cache and Web cache. Several minutes actually! Then when I open Safari, my history is either partially cleared or not cleared at all!! This happens randomly. I’m still using OS El Capitan, but this shouldn’t make a difference. So it’s basically not reliable at the moment. SecureMac needs to look into this.
